“My story: How I overcame anxiety. This video will not give you a dopamine rush. I just want to tell you my story and why I do what I do, and why I make the videos that I do.”
The creator details his personal struggle with severe anxiety, creating empathy and establishing credibility for his advice.
“When I hit 22 years old, I got hit with something that I could have never imagined. It was a crippling anxiety that I had to move home. I felt like I couldn't leave my house. I woke up every day literally scared to be alive.”
He explains the specific diagnosis he received and clarifies what it entails, educating the audience and showing he understands the medical aspects.
“And if you've ever heard of it, it's called depersonalization derealization disorder. Basically, all it is is a crazy negative thought loop pattern of your life doesn't really feel real. It almost feels like you're in a dream.”
He reveals the two key factors that helped him overcome anxiety: faith and understanding how the brain works, connecting his personal journey to practical solutions.
“The only reason that I think I got out, it was one, Jesus Christ saved my life. I prayed and prayed and I felt that my prayers were answered and my faith has saved my life. But two, I learned how my brain actually worked.”
He elaborates on the content he creates, which focuses on self-talk, overthinking, and anxiety, reinforcing the practical value he offers.
“A lot of my content's about the way you talk to yourself, how to deal with overthinking, anxiety. And the way that I learned how to get over the anxiety that I have is because I realized what the anxiety was. I realized why my brain deals with it.”
He offers encouragement to viewers, emphasizing that recovery is possible and reiterating his transformation, building hope and connection.
“But I'm here to tell you if you feel that way, there is light at the end of the tunnel. And so much of it has to do with you realizing how your brain actually works.”
The video ends with a direct call to action to keep fighting and learn about one's brain, coupled with a reaffirming on-screen message.
“If you are going through anxiety, I promise you, it's not the end of the world. Just keep fighting, keep going, put your head down, learn how your brain works, learn why it's happening. I promise you, everything's going to be okay. You Are Going To Be Okay”
