The three numbers, and which one to trust

Engagement rate by followers is the classic formula: (likes + comments + saves + shares) ÷ followers × 100. It was built for the feed, when most people who saw a post already followed you. It still works for comparing your own posts over time.

Engagement rate by views divides the same interactions by views. For Reels it's the fairer read, because most Reel views come from people who don't follow you yet, so a by-followers rate can look huge on a small account or tiny on a big one for reasons that have nothing to do with the content.

Like-to-view ratio is likes ÷ views. It's the one number we can benchmark honestly: across 3,626 public Reels tracked in CreatorHouse and scraped between August and September 2026, the median was about 7% at every view range, with the bottom quarter under ~3.5% and the top quarter above ~11%. The tracked accounts skew toward ones already working, so read it as "healthy," not as a minimum.

Views themselves need the same context: whether 1,000 views is good depends on your follower count. The views-by-followers table is here.

Frequently asked questions

Add up the interactions on a post (likes, comments, saves and shares), divide by your follower count, and multiply by 100. For Reels, divide by views instead: most Reel views come from non-followers, so a by-views rate tells you how the people who actually watched reacted.
Around 7% is typical. Across 3,626 public Reels tracked in CreatorHouse (August to September 2026), the median like-to-view ratio was 6.6% to 7.3% at every view range, with the bottom quarter under about 3.5% and the top quarter above about 11%. These accounts skew toward ones already working, so treat it as a healthy benchmark rather than a floor.
There's no single honest number. By-follower rates swing widely with account size and niche, and a Reel that reaches mostly non-followers can show a huge rate on a small account. Compare against your own last 10 posts, and use the by-views rate and like-to-view ratio for Reels.
Yes, if you have them. Saves and shares are the strongest signals that someone found a post valuable, and they're visible in each post's insights. Leave them blank if you're calculating for someone else's post, since only the account owner can see them.
No. The calculation runs entirely in your browser; nothing you type is sent to our servers or saved.
