I talk about it all the time, guys—fundamentals start with the grip, but they continue through the presentation.

What do I mean by “presentation?” I mean how you present your body to the target.

Here’s a quick explanation of how the strong hand and support hand come together to create true 360° grip pressure.

I had a student yesterday with larger hands than most. For a long time, he had adapted his grip just to avoid slide bite on the platform he was shooting. Little by little, we made some adjustments. By the end of the session, he wasn’t gripping the gun just to prevent slide bite anymore—he was gripping it the way he needed to so the dot tracked predictably and consistently.

Stay tuned because I’ll be posting a video later showing just how well he was running the gun by the end of the session.

This is the stuff that gets me fired up. Watching someone connect the dots, have that “aha!” moment, and realize, “This is what it’s always supposed to feel like.” That’s why I love coaching.

As always, stay blessed and have an amazing day.

LET'S TALK ABOUT GRIP

0:00Hook

The video starts with an immediate visual demonstration of a pistol grip, drawing in viewers interested in firearms and shooting techniques.

Let's talk about grip.

0:04Content

The speaker explains the concept of 360 degrees of pressure on the grip, emphasizing full hand coverage for stability.

If I can cover as much real estate as possible with my hands, the gun's not gonna escape.

0:12Setup

The video highlights a common mistake: leaving the backstrap open, which leads to instability, setting up the need for the correct technique.

When I see you coming and driving your hand out a little bit more and leaving the back strap a little bit more open, what's happening is the gun's not completely coming up zero to 12, it's starting to play.

0:27Content

The speaker details the correct strong hand placement, focusing on getting into the web of the hand and using pinky pressure.

So, getting into the web, and thinking with the pinky, I pull as I push with my drumstick, it locks out.

0:36Content

The video further refines the grip, advising on using the meaty part of the support hand and driving thumbs down to flex muscles for better control.

What I want you to focus on is taking the meaty part of your support hand and really coming in and, you see how that flexes there? I want you to worry about holding the gun with the right hand where it's just steady, it's not going anywhere, but your support hand comes in and rather than thumbs up where you can push yourself to slide bite, I want you to think just coming in and driving it thumbs down so you flex that muscle.

1:05Reveal

The correct grip is demonstrated with a shot, showing the stable outcome of proper technique.

So, as you flex, you present.

1:09CTA

The video concludes with a list of brands and discount codes, promoting products and encouraging engagement.

You're gonna see it 12 zero to 12, zero to 12.
