My 8-year-old grandson accidentally started something. My son-in-law had pistols. He'd tease my wife about taking me to the gun store. She'd groan. We'd laugh. Running joke in our family. Then our grandson chimed in, completely unprompted: "Mimi. Papa should look at one of the big guns." I bought my first pistol that December. My wife Jenny wasn't immediately on board. I explained my thinking. She heard me out. That conversation mattered. I've watched enough to know what desperation makes people do. I didn't want to open my front door one day and have nothing. That's not political. That's a husband thinking about his wife. I'm Jeff. Retired educator, Army vet. I got into shooting late and I'm documenting everything I figure out — especially what nobody puts on the product page. What is your gunowner "origin story?" #Firstreel #Awkward #FirstTimeGunOwner #NewGunOwner #BeginnerShooter
