TUM GULAM KYU BANE?
A statement about checking one's worth by watching the video captures attention, implying a profound lesson. The split screen format with a young man reacting to Osho creates an immediate visual contrast and curiosity.
“Apni aukat check karni hai toh Osho ki ek baar ye video dekh lo.”
Osho challenges the narrative of foreign invaders making Indians slaves, instead, he questions why Indians became slaves. This direct and provocative questioning makes the audience self-reflect.
“Itna bada desh. Aur humein sharam bhi nahi aati ye kehte hue ki firangiyon ne humein ghulam kiya. Toh tum ghulam hue kyu? 40 crore ka desh. Kul 3 crore sankhya wale desh ka ghulam ho gaya. Chullu bhar paani mein doob maro. Sharm bhi nahi aati.”
Osho continues to mock the idea of such a large population being enslaved by a smaller one, emphasizing a lack of agency and competence among the 'slaves'.
“40 aadmiyon ko teen aadmi ghulam bana le. Aur phir bhi gaali de ki Hindustan humein ghulam bana liye. Toh tum karte kya rahe? Tumse kuch bhi na ho saka? 2000 saal mein kin-kin ne tumhe ghulam banaya zara socho toh. Hoon aaye, barbar aaye, turk aaye, Mughal aaye, angrej aaye, Portuguese aaye, French aaye, jo bhi aaya, tum uske hi pair choomne ko raazi ho gaye. Tum jaise ghulam banne ko taiyar hi baithe. Tum jholi pasare baithe the ki aao humein ghulam banao.”
Osho criticizes India's ancient civilization for neglecting science and being misled by religious gurus, who encouraged escapism and reliance on divine will rather than practical action.
“Tum duniya ki sabse purani sabhyata ho. Tumhare paas toh vigyan param shikhar par hona chahiye tha. Bharat ek buniyaadi bhool mein pada raha hai. Isne vigyan ka tiraskar kiya uska phal bhog raha hai. Tumhare tatha kathit dharm guru tumhe bhagoda banate rahe. Palayanvadi banate rahe. Kehte rahe sansar toh maya hai. Aur jo hona hai, wo toh parmatma ki kripa hai. Uske bina toh patta bhi nahi hilta, toh firangiyon ne tum par kabza kaise kar liye? Tum lute kyu? Firangi toh tumhare parmatma se bhi takatvar maloom hote. Tumse kuch karte na bana, tum itne napunsak.”
He further condemns religious figures for teaching 'inverted things' and providing lofty scriptures without basic practical knowledge, likening harmful cultural practices to cancer that needs to be removed.
“Ye tumhare tatha kathit rishimuniyon ki kripa hai. Ki unhone tumhe ulti baatein sikhai. Unhone jeevan ki buniyaad toh tumhe di nahi. Aur jeevan ke shikhar ki bakwas shuru kar di. Kakha ga sikhaya nahi. Aur tumhare hath mein Kalidas ke shastra pakda diye. Agar main unka virodh karta hu toh tumko lagta hai ki main tumhari dusmani kar raha hu. Lekin meri majboori hai. Zaroor meri baat zeher ki tarah lagegi. Jis moolta ke karan tum pareshan rahe ho usko main mita ke apna kartavya poora kar raha hu. Kisi ko cancer ho toh operation toh karna hi hoga. Tum jisko sanskriti keh rahe ho wo tumhara cancer hai. Dharm ki bakwas hai tumhare paas. Aur tumhari bakwas kuch kaam na aayi.”
Osho concludes by stating that India's freedom and even its future security depend on external powers, not its own strength, reinforcing his argument that the country lacks self-reliance due to its cultural and intellectual failings, and reiterates his love for India as the reason for his harsh criticism.
“Is azaadi mein bhi tumpe Pashchim ki kripa hai. Gulami bhi unhone de di thi tumhe, azaadi bhi de di unhone tumhe. Aur aaj tumhari azaadi cheeni ja sakti hai. Abhi China tumpe kabhi bhi sawar ho sakta hai. Agar nahi sawar hota toh Russia ke karan. Tumhare karan nahi. Tum toh khacchar ho, tumpe koi na koi sawar hoga. Aur tum kehte ho ki aap Bharatiya sanskrit ka zyada virodh kyu karte hain? Isliye ki Bharat se mujhe prem. Main chahta hu ki ye bhi duniya mein apna sthan paye. Samman purvak apna sthan paye aur ye vigyan ke bina nahi ho sakta.”
