Those copies arrive at slightly different times and interfere with each other which creates a unique pattern. But here's where it gets interesting, your body is mostly water, and water absorbs Wi-Fi. So when you walk into a room, you change this unique pattern, and that exact change depends on your size, your shape, and even how you move. Your router and your devices are constantly measuring this pattern so that the Wi-Fi can be optimized, meaning those measurements can reveal far more than just signal strength.”

“So a research team in Germany collected this pattern data, trained an AI on it, and used those signal patterns to detect people in seconds. This same technology could help a router detect if somebody had fallen in a room with no cameras. Or it could potentially be used to identify you as you walk past a random cafe. Both kinds of applications are already moving towards standardized systems.”
