Fun Fact: The hognose snake will very dramatically play dead when threatened. It will writhe in pain and turn over onto its back sticking its tongue out. If it’s turned back onto its stomach it will flip back over insisting it’s really dead! They even emit a smelly odor really selling the whole corpse thing 🐍☠️🤪 Special thank you to Oliver for voicing our little snake! #naturalhabitatshorts #naturalhabitat #naturalhabitok

Steven, you were supposed to be up 30 minutes ago.
Introduces the two snake characters and the conflict of the smaller one pretending to be dead.
“Steven, you were supposed to be up 30 minutes ago. It's time for school.”
The smaller snake dramatically feigns death, creating a humorous interaction.
“blehhh”
The larger snake tries to motivate the smaller one with a stern but playful warning.
“Buddy, I know you're not really dead. Now go put your sock on.”
The smaller snake continues its 'dead' act, frustrating the larger snake.
“blehhh”
The larger snake uses reverse psychology, relating the act to 'the boy who cried dead'.
“Okay. You know one day you're gonna wake up and you're gonna actually be dead. Then you're gonna be really sorry. Mhm, the boy who cried dead.”
The larger snake's final threat of withholding frozen rats for lunch finally gets a reaction, revealing the smaller snake's true motivation.
“buehhhh. All right, well I guess dead boys don't get frozen rats in their lunch box.”
The 'frozen rats' are revealed to be living, sentient characters, adding a twist.
“Free at last! Oh, and listen to ya father.”
